Conceptually, the new A2 e-tron is the direct spiritual successor to the legendary diesel hatchback that, over a quarter-century ago, redefined urban efficiency by consuming less than three liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. Today’s electric iteration carries this legacy forward, with energy consumption dipping below 13 kWh per 100 km. While a figure of 12.9 kWh under the WLTP cycle may not be an absolute industry record, it is an outstanding achievement for a vehicle of this class and scale, establishing the A2 as the most efficient EV in Audi's current lineup.

These figures were made possible through an uncompromising approach to aerodynamics. A signature sloping roofline and a drag coefficient not exceeding 0.24 transform the vehicle into a precision-engineered aerodynamic projectile. To minimize turbulence, engineers implemented flush-mounted door handles and fully sealed the underbody with a continuous shield of aerodynamic panels.

The model's technical foundation offers two battery pack options: 52.61 kWh and 84 kWh. The larger capacity version delivers an impressive range of 646 km (WLTP)—a metric widely regarded as a far more accurate reflection of real-world driving than the Chinese CLTC standard. Motor output spans a broad spectrum, ranging from a modest 125 kW to a dynamic 240 kW, which translates to approximately 170 to 326 horsepower. The drivetrain is rear-wheel drive, an optimal configuration for the packaging and handling dynamics of modern electric vehicles.

Particular attention has been paid to the energy ecosystem. The A2 e-tron supports V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) technology, allowing it to feed power back into the grid or energize external devices. Charging speeds are equally impressive: high-power stations delivering up to 183 kW can replenish the larger battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 29 minutes. The smaller 52 kWh battery accepts up to 100 kW, reducing the optimal charging window to just 14 minutes. The intermediate 61 kWh variant sits slightly differently, taking about 25 minutes at a charging power of 105 kW.

In terms of ergonomics and safety, the vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive suite of modern active driver assistance systems. Adaptive cruise control with automated obstacle avoidance and an intelligent parking system ensure maximum comfort in urban environments. With an overall body length of 4.32 meters and a wheelbase of 2.77 meters, Audi has maximized interior volume while minimizing overhangs to enhance maneuverability. For those who value an open atmosphere, an optional 1.6-square-meter panoramic roof is available.

The interior is designed with a philosophy of digital minimalism. Despite the industry-wide trend toward total "touch-ification," Audi has retained physical tactile buttons for critical functions on the steering wheel and center console, the latter of which is now devoid of a traditional transmission tunnel. The visual command center integrates an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central touchscreen. A sophisticated technological touch is the integration of Fidlock magnetic mounts, allowing for a flexible cabin configuration by securely attaching accessories and gadget holders.

The model's European market entry is accompanied by clear price positioning. The base 170 hp version with the 52 kWh battery is priced at €38,000. The long-range modification with the 84 kWh battery starts at €48,900, while the top-tier performance variant begins at €51,200. For Audi, the A2 e-tron is more than just another product; it is a strategic tool for brand positioning, demonstrating the company's ability to blend premium comfort with ultimate rationality.
