Driver Attention Monitoring in Tesla Electric Vehicles
Reimagining the Interior of the Jaguar Type 01

The visual concept of the Type 01 electric sedan's interior is centered on structural purity and functional zoning. The centerpiece of the composition is a longitudinal "spine" that bisects the four-seat cabin, creating a precise geometry that underscores the vehicle's premium status. This element does more than simply divide the space; it dictates the rhythm of the entire interior, transforming the cabin into a high-tech cocoon.
Driver ergonomics have been reimagined to favor a more dynamic, low-slung seating position—a hallmark of classic sports cars, now reinterpreted through the lens of modern electromobility. The instrument panel is intentionally slimmed down to minimize obstruction and maximize visibility. At the heart of the control center lies a display whose aesthetics and interaction logic mirror contemporary smartphones, highlighting the brand's commitment to a seamless digital experience. A beige color palette softens the technological edge, striking a sophisticated balance between cold high-tech precision and classic comfort.
One of the most radical departures is the complete elimination of the traditional rearview mirror, replaced by the ClearSight Rear View Display. This screen is integrated into the lower section of the windshield, aligned with the side mirrors. The move is driven by a desire to reduce cognitive load: by minimizing the vertical range of the driver's gaze, they can remain focused on the road while maintaining full situational awareness behind them.
Beyond the visible elements, the Type 01 interior embraces the concept of an "invisible interface." The cabin features hidden compartments and controls that activate only when necessary. This strategy eliminates the visual noise often found in modern vehicles cluttered with buttons and switches.
The Type 01 represents the evolutionary progression of the Type 00 concept unveiled in 2024. Despite mixed critical reception to the prototype, Jaguar has chosen to double down on its bold design language, translating those daring ideas into a production-ready product. The Type 01 serves as the first full realization of the brand's new technological foundation, setting the stage for the company's entire future electric lineup.
The road to the official release, scheduled for October 6, will include a public preview: a camouflaged prototype will be showcased at Monterey Car Week, allowing experts to evaluate the vehicle's overall proportions before its final form is revealed.
