The industry's spotlight has shifted to the Shield 27Q560, a 27-inch display that is redefining the concept of a "fast screen." The device's standout feature is its versatile refresh rate system, allowing users to pivot between visual clarity and absolute speed. At its native resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels, the monitor delivers an impressive 560 Hz, placing it firmly among the top-tier solutions for professional gamers. However, the true technological leap occurs when switching to a reduced resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, where the refresh rate skyrockets to an incredible 1060 Hz.
This implementation strategy—sacrificing resolution to boost frequency—is driven by the physical constraints of interface bandwidth and controller clock speeds. Despite these staggering figures, the Shield 27Q560 is not the absolute record-holder; competition in this segment is becoming fierce, with the Samsung Odyssey G6 (G60H), for instance, already demonstrating the potential to reach 1100 Hz. Nevertheless, HKC has succeeded in creating a product that marries extreme speed with high image quality.
The device's technical foundation is an Oxide IPS panel with a glossy finish. The integration of oxide semiconductors within the matrix structure significantly accelerates pixel response times, which, combined with the claimed 1ms (GtG) rating, virtually eliminates motion blur and ghosting during fast-paced action. The glossy layer, in turn, enhances contrast and saturation, resulting in a deeper, more vivid image.
The color reproduction of the Shield 27Q560 transcends the boundaries of a mere "gaming" tool. Support for 10-bit color depth (achieved via 8-bit + FRC) and 98% DCI-P3 coverage make the monitor suitable for tasks requiring high color accuracy. DisplayHDR 400 certification further confirms the panel's ability to handle high dynamic range, ensuring a respectable level of brightness and detail in both deep shadows and highlight areas.
In terms of connectivity, the device is engineered for the most demanding scenarios. The implementation of DisplayPort 2.1 paves the way for the uncompressed transmission of massive data streams, which is critical for operating at frequencies above 500 Hz. Two HDMI 2.1 ports ensure compatibility with modern consoles and GPUs, while a USB Type-C port with 15W power delivery adds functional versatility for peripheral connectivity.
The Shield 27Q560 is slated for release in the Chinese market this November.
